Seven years ago I tore my ACL playing soccer, after having surgery and spending six months in various braces and going through physical therapy my mother thought it was important to find a sports therapist before I started playing soccer again and during the search of the best therapist we stumbled across Dennis Cheatham from Crossfit Talon and that is where my love for the sport started.
I continued to play soccer (got a scholarship and played two years in college at the University of St. Francis about 30 miles south of Chicago where my third and final knee surgery ended my soccer career) but ultimately knew all I wanted to do was go to the gym everyday.
Since then I have gotten my level 1 cert., started coaching (started at Talon and now coach at CFM), and have been to regionals three times. Once as an individual (in 2011) and twice on the Crossfit Murfreesboro team (in 2014 and 2015).
Aside from crossfit I have also recently discovered an interest in olympic weightlifting. In September of 2015 I competed in Utah at University Nationals where I came in 5th and qualified for the American Open in Nevada.
Although I love being an athlete myself I quickly realized I love helping others realize their love for crossfit and even more so than that I love helping women, in particular, realize they are strong. I love being there when one of my clients realizes they are strong enough or fast enough or good enough. I love seeing them grow from being timid and shy to outgoing and confident. I love being the one that helps these women discover that having a big butt is something to be proud of.
