Sarah was blessed to grow up in the beautiful state of Colorado.  She attributes her love of sports, the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle to being exposed to the mighty Rocky Mountains and their endless adventures as a teenager. She played sports in high school, including track and field, and after graduating decided to stay in state for college. She graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a degree in Behavioral Sciences with an emphasis in Cultural Anthropology.

With almost 20 years’ experience in martial arts, Sarah has trained in several disciplines including TKD, Kenpo, Silat, BJJ, American style Kickboxing and Muay Thai. She is a second degree blackbelt under Mark Baier at America's Best Martial Arts in Arvada, CO.

She won her first world title in point sparring in 2006 while competing on the Five Knuckle Bullet National Karate Team. She traveled nationwide for two years with the FKB team while competing in both the National Blackbelt League (NBL) and the Sport Karate International League (SKIL) circuits winning state, regional and national titles along the way. Eventually she craved more and turned her training goals to focus on kickboxing and became an amateur kick boxer. With a record of 3-0, she retired from fighting when she was introduced to crossfit in 2012 and eventually obtained her CF-L1. She now has her dream job as a crossfit coach and is the gym manager at CrossFit Cool Springs in Brentwood, TN.

Crossfit gives her the competitive craving she still has and the personal accountability the fighter in her still yearns for. It also gives her the people and community connection she loves. Crossfit has been able to bring together all her passions in life and has allowed her to share these with others. She loves helping people reach their goals in crossfit and feels the most rewarding part of being a coach is the look on a person’s face when they are able to do something they never thought they could. She loves being an athlete but coaching is her one true passion. When asked how she found crossfit, she simply replied, “I didn’t find crossfit, it found me… and I’ve never looked back!”
