The Battle is coming back to Birmingham for year 2!!! This event was sold out a month in advance last year! Get your team and be ready when registration opens.
Teams of 4. 4 separate decades. Athletes must come from any combination. Example - 13-19 , 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 or 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 60 plus. Can be any combination. Teams will be tested and many domains of fitness. WODs will be posted here and on the website www.battleoftheages.com
Last year CrossFit Clarksville and Austin Peay State University came together to provide an incredible backdrop for a one-of-a-kind team competition. Competitors from all over the central and southeast region descended upon the APSU campus in an unbelievable display of physicality. With $12,000 raised for the APSU Military Alumni Scholarship Fund last year, we are pumped to be back at it again in 2016 with a few BIG changes... First, a name change... This event is far different from any game we've ever played so we feel it is appropriate to give our event a more fitting name...
"The Governors Gauntlet"
The word gauntlet itself comes from the French word “gantelet,” and referred to the heavy, armored gloves worn by medieval knights. To throw ones Gauntlet at the feet of an opponent was the ultimate insult and could only be answered with personal combat. The offended party was expected to “take up the gauntlet” to acknowledge and accept the challenge.
This year's GOVERNORS GAUNTLET is sure to be one for the history books. THINK BIG!

High Reps for High Hopes 2016 will be unlike any other competition you’ve participated in. Simply put, it is a CrossFit Carnival. It is heavily weighted towards being family friendly and especially entertaining for the kids. (But that doesn’t mean that adult competitors won’t have the opportunity to accumulate some reps and move weight!) We want people to come and give their all in their favorite events - cherry-picking is allowed… or better yet, throw up scores in ALL eight events. They will all be under 4 minutes long and will be first-come first-served during the three hour period. Do as many or as few as you like, in whatever order you choose. All will be scored, but only competitors who complete all the events will be eligible to podium. There will be prizes, a raffle, vendors, food and lots of fun. There will also be four events specifically for kids, and a kids’ division with a leaderboard and the chance for their very first podium.

The ticket booth and sign-in table will open at 7:30am. Events will start to accept participants at 8:00am.
In keeping with a carnival theme, tickets will be the method of entry/payment for everything at this event. Tickets are $5 each. One ticket enters you into each event, five tickets get you a t-shirt, one ticket gets you a hamburger, etc. You will be able to pre-purchase tickets in packs of eight when you register (with a ninth bonus ticket thrown in as a token of our thanks for pre-purchasing - enjoy a burger on us!), or purchase at the ticket booth the day of the event. If you purchase ahead of time, tickets will be waiting for you at will-call.
Shirts will only be available until 8/1/2016, so be sure to pre-purchase if you want to be guaranteed a shirt.
In addition, we will have a raffle following the events. We already have some exceptional raffle items committed from Hi-Temp, Compex, RX Ropes, 2 Pood, and more… You can pre-purchase raffle tickets as part of your registration - if you choose this option, they will be waiting for you at will-call.
We strongly encourage you to register in advance. However, you will be able to register the morning of the event. Come early if you prefer this option!
Prizes will be given to the top Male/Female/Masters Male (40+)/Masters Female (40+)/Kids Male (Age 6-13)/Kids Female (Age 6-13).
All proceeds go to High Hopes for Kids - www.highhopesforkids.org/! High Hopes is a school and therapy center for differently-abled kids, physically and mentally. Simply put, they are doing GREAT things for kids who NEED it. Check out the link and watch the video for more info.
We have a donor who is going to match 100% of the money we raise at this event! Every dollar you spend will be doubled for this great cause, so come out, compete, eat a few burgers, get a few shirts, and feel good about a day of competing for a noble cause.
Mayhem on the Mountain is a Functional Fitness competition that will take place at Oak Mountain State Park August 6th and 7th. Individuals will compete on Saturday while teams will compete on Sunday. Mens Rx, Womens Rx, Mens Scaled, Womens Scaled, and Mens Masters will be offered. Team Divisions will be: All Men’s Rx, All Women’s Rx, Coed Rx (must be two male and two female athletes per team), All Men’s Scaled, All Women’s Scaled Coed Scaled (must be two male and two female athletes per team). Individual Athletes/Teams will compete in three (3) workouts. The top 5 in each division will do a fourth Championship workout, to be announced.
Oak Mountain State Park is the state of Alabama's largest state park and offers a variety of outdoor activities including biking and hiking trails, golf and swimming in the manmade lake on property. With combined elements of olympic Lifting, gymnastics, and the outdoors, Mayhem on the Mountain is guaranteed to be a blast! Mark you calendars for July 30! CrossFit Mt Juliet will be hosting our 2nd Annual Battle For The Flag CrossFit Competition! This is a fundraiser for a great organization called Battle Flag Ranch. They provide respite for battle weary veterans and their equally weary spouses and families. This competition will be a mixed gender partner competition with a Rx and Scaled division.
